5 Clever Dollar-Store Hacks to Organize Your Kitchen

Must Read

Of all the places in the house, I find organizing and cleaning my kitchen to be the most difficult task. From tens of cans stocked on tiny shelves to veggies thrown away in random boxes, the simple thought of getting something out of there left me beyond tired.

But I do like to keep things nice and organized – after all, who doesn’t dream of having that picture-perfect kitchen?

I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, especially since my kitchen isn’t exactly big. That’s when I started digging for useful hacks online; I wanted to find the ultimate secrets to help me achieve success in my organization project without costing me a fortune.

Not only have I discovered some genius tricks, but I’ve also put them together in a list which may help you to improve your kitchen as well.

Ready? Let’s go!

#1: Use magazine holders

You know those classic magazine/paperwork holders everyone keeps in their office? Well, it turns out they make an excellent storage space for food cans. All you need to do is to get a magazine holder from the local dollar store and stack your food cans on top of each other. This hack helps you save plenty of space and it looks kinda fancy too!

#2: Fridge makeover

Dollar store bins: the most trivial item in the history of dollar store items. Apparently, it took me this long to find out that I can use plastic bins to keep my fridge more organized than ever before.

If you’re into colors, you can pick a different color for each food group. For example, meat products go in red containers, cheese and dairy in a white container and veggies in a green one. You can also choose basic colors and print some beautiful stickers to recognize each food group. Either way, this is definitely a game-changer that prevents your fridge from looking chaotic!

#3: Pantry makeover

I don’t know about you, but my pantry was probably the least organized area of my home. Why? Because I’ve simply put every random thing in there, from cans to pasta boxes, bottles and seasoning.

And no matter how hard I worked to keep it organized, it just never looked good – until I learned this secret: dollar store jars.

These items will make any pantry look classier and more expensive; they’re cheap and a great way of storing all kinds of cereals. You can even get tiny jars and put seasoning in them, since different sizes create the illusion of a bigger pantry.

#4: Cutting boards

If you have a little extra cash, I highly recommend purchasing some good-looking wooden cutting boards to simply put them on display. I used to be fanatic about not placing any kitchen item in plain sight, but now I realize it looks much better!

Getting a dollar store small plant and simply covering it with parchment paper can create a rustic, farmhouse-inspired atmosphere. You can even go one step further and place some of your most beautiful spatulas in a jar.

#5: Tea bags

I used to store all of my tea bags in the boxes they came into from the grocery store. This was occupying an entire drawer in my kitchen – one I could’ve really used for other purposes. The simplest solution is to simply store all the tea bags in dollar store plastic bags with zippers.

These take up much less of your space and can be easily stored anywhere in the kitchen. Choose transparent bags to see the tea inside and pick your favorite flavor in no time. Voila!
